• Facilitate connections between members and partners
• Send important updates and notifications
• Improve our Platform and services
• Maintain security and prevent fraud

3. Information Sharing

With Members: Approved ranchers and land sellers have their information displayed to members. This includes business details, contact information, and property information.

With Partners: Member contact information may be shared with ranchers and partners to facilitate connections, with appropriate consent.

With Service Providers: We may share your information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf (e.g., email delivery, database hosting).

For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.

We Do Not Sell Your Data: We never sell your personal information to third parties.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your experience on our Platform. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings, but disabling cookies may limit Platform functionality.

7. Advertising & Measurement

We run ads on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram) and need to measure whether they actually work. To do that, we use two Meta tools together:

• The Meta Pixel — a small piece of code on our website that records actions like visiting a page or starting an application.
• The Conversions API — a server-to-server connection that reports those same actions to Meta from our side, so measurement stays accurate even when a browser blocks the Pixel.

For measurement and ad matching, we share a limited set of information with Meta, including a hashed (scrambled) version of your email, phone number, and IP address. Hashing means we send a one-way fingerprint rather than the raw values. Meta uses this to tell us, in aggregate, which ads led to real interest — and to show our ads to people like you. We do not sell this information.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Platform is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or Platform notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. SMS / Text Messaging

If you provide your mobile number and opt in, BuyHalfCow may send you text messages related to your reservations and orders — such as confirmations, share availability, and follow-ups from the rancher fulfilling your order — as well as occasional offers. You opt in by checking the SMS consent box on our forms or by otherwise giving express written consent. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase.

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or your SMS opt-in consent with any third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information collected for text messaging is used solely by BuyHalfCow to deliver the messages described above.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe at any time, or reply HELP for help. You can also opt out of marketing communications as described in Section 5 (Your Rights).
